Amit Mendiratta is the Founder and Principal Architect of EcoDesign Architecture, bringing over 25 years of international experience in architectural design, planning, and project delivery across Canada, the UAE, the UK, and India. His expertise spans multi-family residential, mixed-use, commercial, educational, healthcare, and interior design projects, with a strong focus on sustainable, functional, and context-sensitive architecture.
Prior to establishing EcoDesign Architects in Canada, Amit spent over five years with Focus Architecture in British Columbia, where he played a key role in the planning and design of a diverse portfolio of residential developments, including high-rise towers, six-storey multi-family buildings, townhouses, and mixed-use projects. His work involved design development, municipal approvals, rezoning applications, client presentations, and close collaboration with planning authorities and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
Before relocating to Canada, Amit held several senior architectural positions internationally, including Director – Architecture at a multidisciplinary consultancy in Dubai, where he led the design and delivery of commercial, educational, and interior projects. He also served as Senior Design Architect with the German engineering and architectural firm Kling Consult GmbH, contributing to the design of large-scale mixed-use developments in the Middle East.
Amit holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Design from the University of Nottingham, UK, and began his international career in the United Kingdom. His design philosophy combines thoughtful planning, technical excellence, and sustainable design to create buildings that are timeless, practical, and enrich the communities they serve.
